                                         BBQ TIPS

The arrival of spring has some folks dragging out their grills and cleaning them. Men working hard with thoughts of firing up the grill and chilling the beer. So I have given some thought to some guide lines to help make your grilling experience the most it can be…

1. The warm weather has brought out the flies and mosquitoes. The solution to this is my “Benford Insect Control Unit”.

The”Benford” works well for insect control. But I have had to peel the dog off the back of the unit twice now. The dogs won’t even walk by to get to their door; they just sit and cry…

I’ll work some more on it…

 2. Fill a spray bottle with olive oil for your grill. It is cheaper, tastes better and is healthier for you. I use  a Roasted Garlic oil. You can use it on your veggies too...

3. I use a spray bottle when cooking on the grill filled with a Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke mix that keeps thins most and adds tons of flavors. (Mix 3 parts Worcestershire with 1 part liquid smoke)

 4. I like to a spray bottle of water with my grill for flare ups and to keep the hickory damp for more smoking...

5. Tools, the most important part of your grilling experience. These are called Pig Tails. They are the best thing I have ever seen for moving things around on the grill. They are hard to find, I have never seen one in a store. I see them on TV at BBQ cook offs. The ones I have are from yard sales… I have been thinking on making up a bunch of them and putting some hard wood handles on them… I did make the one with the big oak handle. It can flip a whole rack of ribs single handedly…

6. the absolutely most valuable tool a man can posses. Mine is old and well used...

In a pinch you can always fall back on the old standby…

Remember that this is simply an outline; it is not written in stone. Don’t be afraid to make changes to your style. Take it and run with it….

Enjoy
