Raspberry Chipotle BBQ Sauce

Raspberry Chipotle BBQ Sauce

A Raspberry Chipotle BBQ sauce is hard to find.
So we make our own...
I like a little ZING to my sauce and some folks call this sauce hot and it is a bit warm if you taste it with a spoon.
But after cooking on the grill it really mellows out. So I guess you need to go by your own taste. Me, I like it smoking …
And the folks that say it is hot always empty their plates...
So it is not to hot...

Ingredients: Raspberry Chipotle BBQ sauce: (sometimes we add honey)

4 18 oz bottles of cheap BBQ sauce
1 8 oz jar of raspberry preserves
1 6 oz can of chipotle chilies
1 large sweet onion
8 cloves of garlic
¼ cup red pepper flakes
2 Tbsp. of liquid smoke

1 8 oz jar of honey (optional)

Directions: BBQ sauce

Do a rough chop on your onion and garlic,
put it in your blender along with the chipotle chilies,
blending until smooth. Add in the preserves, honey,
BBQ sauce and red pepper flakes.
Blend again until smooth. This sauce is ready now.
But, it will be better in a day or so as everything gets happy.
Put into jars in the refrigerator. It will keep for weeks.

Enjoy,

Ken & Patti
