Mickey D's vs. Good Oil Fashioned Lobster

Mickey D's vs. Good Old Fashioned Lobster

I have a love/hate relationship with McDonalds.
Honestly, who doesn't enjoy those fries of theirs??

But, let's face it, McDonalds is a rip off. We stopped there last week after a ball game and bought an Angus beef meal, a 10-pc. McNugget meal and a McRib meal (my guilty, gross pleasure!) and it was $19.84. What??

This week, after the game we had these lovlies...that cost 20 cents less than that....

...here's what I did to them.

2 T. butter for each lobster tail

6 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 shallots, diced
2 T. butter
2 oz. sherry or white wine
2 oz. heavy cream or half & half

Put mushrooms & shallots in large skillet with butter. Cook over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add sherry and cook until tender, stirring often.

Add cream and lower heat, stir until creamy and warm. Serve over cooked lobster tails.

Using kitchen shears, slice down the back of the lobster shell and remove the lobster completely.

Lay it atop the shell and place 1 T. butter on top of each.

Broil for about 4 minutes, watch at all times!!
Add another T. butter to each one and continue broiling just until opaque and lightly golden. Top with mushroom sauce.
