The Ultimate Breakfast Burger

This burger is over the top. I know you’ve had breakfast sandwiches before. To me they are a good come on with no follow through. This guy does not tease you with a just hint of flavor. He comes on hard and filling with a ½ pound patty of spicy breakfast sausage. Then, he hits you with 2 fried eggs, and a pile of bacon resting on toasted sour dough bread. To top it off, it was all smothered in our Chipotle Cheddar Cheese sauce. Patti had the diet version, hers only had one slice of bread and one egg.

When you bite into this guy you are in hog heaven, literally. This big guy is goooood…

Directions:

Make two ½ pound sausage patties. We used a hamburger press to get nice, firm and good looking patties. Remember, you eat with your eyes first. Cook up your bacon to taste and set aside until you are ready for it. Timing is the hardest part of this sandwich, you want everything warm and ready at the same time. It won’t hurt it if you nuke it for about a minute just to get everything hot.

Start the sausage cooking on your hot griddle, when they are about half way done flip them and add the buttered bread to the griddle. Start your eggs in a hot skillet. We used an egg mold to keep them nice and round. But, if you don’t have one, don’t worry about it. Watch your bread and turn it when one side is toasted.

If you have got your timing down everything should come together at the same time. Pull the eggs and bread when they are ready. When everything is done you can start building your burger.

About our Recipes

We do our recipes on our patio where we have a lineup of grills, including Royall Wood Pellet Grill/Smoker, Traeger, Charmglow, Char-Broil, The Big Easy, Brinkman and Weber. I call it our “Wall of Grill”. Our grilling styles are healthy and low fat and will fit pellet heads, gas, natural wood and even charcoal purists. Almost any of our recipes can be done on any kind of good BBQ.

The important thing to keep in mind is TIME & TEMPERATURE. You can even do some of them in the oven or crock pot, but, then you lose all the flavors you get from cooking outdoors. But, sometimes it does rain.

Remember that a recipe is simply an outline; it is not written in stone. Don’t be afraid to make changes to suit your taste.

Take it and run with it….

Live Your Passion,

Ken & Patti
